Employee Involvement

We engage socio-economic development participation from every level of the organisation by actively seeking employee community involvement opportunities; communicating these projects through our internal communication channels; and encouraging our employees to get involved.

Lewis Group employees are invited to forward proposals and suggestions for funding worthy causes in the communities where our employees live and work. Worthy projects are selected in each region where we operate and employees are involved in the selection and handover of funds or merchandise.

Projects Undertaken

We encourage staff to forward details of deserving local community projects. The committee reviews these submissions and deserving causes in communities where we operate, are approved. This initiative ensures that we involve our employees in supporting communities who support our company and creates further employee awareness of our socio-economic development endeavours.

The following are some examples of projects selected. Worthy ventures that assist and uplift the communities in which our customers and employees live:

  • AIDS orphans homes
  • Shelters for abused/vulnerable children
  • Disabled children's homes
  • Education support for the underprivileged
  • Feeding schemes /soup kitchens for the underprivileged
  • Homes for the Aged
  • Informal organisations which support communities in terms of shelter, medical assistance, education, training and development
  • Hospices/home-based care programmes
